Jesus lived and ministered during the reign of the first five Roman emperors. Rome erased ethnic borders by dominating three continents and all nations around the Mediterranean Sea. The famous Roman highways connected all parts of the imperialist empire. They allowed Jesus and Paul to travel freely and safely using mostly the universal Vulgar Latin to preach to the Gentiles, making the success of Christianity possible.
To help the reader envision the growth of Jesus’ faith movement, I designed maps that show the route of each evangelical journey. I kept the ancient names of important places, using a few modern names for better orientation.
My intention is not to bring Jesus and Paul in front of the modern reader but to take the reader back to the time and places where Jesus and Paul lived, ministered, and converted countless people to the growing Christian movement. Jesus’ Second Coming as Paul?: Investigating Another Identity of Jesus and the 13th Apostle takes place in the Anno Domini era that began with the birth of Jesus Christ.
To teach compassion and show a better way of life through faith in his God the Father, Jesus had to live and suffer like any human. At the end of his initial ministry, he faced a torturous martyrdom. These events took place during a nonpolitically correct time when few human rights were protected. To understand the social atmosphere, we must be able to navigate the racial hatred of the time, as well as the historical and religious inaccuracies.
So, I connect Jesus and the events of early Christianity with quotations from the Gospels and provide the correct, verifiable dates and locations of specific social and religious groups. I also attempt to provide previously unfinished descriptions of what may have happened to produce the known historical and religious outcomes.
